“We are excited and prepared to begin a new journey with you...”
Not a day goes by when we do not pray for the birth parents of our son and our future children. We are excited and prepared to begin a new journey with you and the precious life growing inside of you.
Meet Chris and Courtney
"We met sixteen years ago when we were in high school. Chris was quiet and kept to himself, but one of his friends introduced him to me. I was the total opposite. "Stranger" was not a word that I knew well. I instantly knew that I would one day marry Chris. Seven years later, after both of us finished college, we finally walked down the aisle, said "I do" in front of God, our family and friends, and I landed the husband of my dreams. We knew before we were married that children were going to be a huge part of our future. Two years into the adoption process, we adopted our son, Jeremiah. And now, we are on the path to grow our family again through adoption.
Although neither one of us is adopted personally, adoptions have been visible in our family and personal lives. We have gone through the process once, but that is not our only connection. Between the two of us, we have four adopted first cousins. Over the years, many families that we have met, both personally and professionally, have shared their beautiful adoption stories with us, as well. Adoption holds a special place in our hearts, and we feel at peace with choosing this plan for growing our family.
It's our pleasure to welcome you into our story. We are looking forward to the day when you are an important part of our 'Happily Ever After.'"
Chris is a software engineer. He feels happy to be able to work from home. His work schedule is flexible. He hopes to one day coach his children in sports and be part of clubs such as scouts which is important to him. Courtney teachers 5th grade. In addition to teaching, she coaches several sports during different season of the school year. Because of her teaching schedule, she can spend every holiday break, weekend, and summer at home. Her job allows her to take an extended leave after their adoption.
CHRIS ON COURTNEY
"My wife, Courtney, would be best friends with Olaf from the movie "Frozen" because she likes warm hugs. In a way, being around Courtney is like receiving a warm hug because she brings laughter and joy to any room. She is as comfortable talking to an old friend as she is talking to a stranger. Courtney is one of the most generous people that I know as she is constantly coming up with reason to give gifts such as baked good, blankets, and anything else that she sees fit. She is incredibly hard-working and has no issue going the extra mile to help any student or person get what they need to be successful. It has been amazing to see Courtney as a mother! One of Jeremiah's favorite things to do is bring Courtney a book because he loves listening to her read, as she is a captivating storyteller. She seems to always be in tune with Jeremiah's emotions and can tell when he wants to play, when he wants some food, or when he wants to snuggle on the couch."
COURTNEY ON CHRIS
"My husband, Chris, would be described by most people as a textbook introvert. He does not like to be the center of attention and would rather be at home than out. He does his work quietly, and he does it well. He is particular and thorough. And, he is probably one of the most analytical people that I know. Chris is light-hearted and generous. He would do anything for his friends and family. He is loyal and dedicated. He makes stressful situations easier to endure, and he loves quality time and words of affirmation. Chris loves to play with our son. The two of them are so much fun to watch. He watches baseball with him, reads him books, sings him songs, plays basketball and soccer with him, and is silly with him. He gets Jeremiah to belly laugh like no one else. And, every day when the garage opens, Jeremiah gets so excited because he knows his Dada is home! Chris is an amazing father!"
Chris' mom and dad live close by. His dad is a software engineer, as well. His mother works at a children's hospital. They love spending time with their grandson and look forward to more grandchildren. Chris is the oldest of three boys. They have multiple family dinners every month and share major holidays and events together.
Courtney's mom and dad live close by, as well. They jump at every opportunity to spend time with their grandson. They look forward to continuing that trend. Both are in the nursing field. Courtney is the eldest of three children, she has two younger brothers. They also have multiple family dinners every month and share major holidays and events together.
"We live in a four bedroom, two and half bathroom house with a fenced in backyard. Our neighborhood is very large with many young families. There is a park and pool, as well. We host many gatherings with friends and family, and we spend most of our time in the kitchen and family room. We also love our in-home library. It's equipped with books for all ages, our game cabinet, the Wii, and bean bag chairs. We look forward to all the family memories to be made there."
We have an abundance of close friends who we consider to be our family. We were the last of all of our friends to have children, so our son, Jeremiah has many friends of all ages to play with. The kids range from seventeen to four months old. We have monthly friend get-togethers in addition to celebrating birthdays and holidays together. We celebrate Halloween with an annual Monster Mash Party where the kids do crafts and activities, dress in their costumes, and share food at our bonfire. Friendsgiving is an annual event that is held in our home for about 20 people. We have a table that seats twelve, but we have to set up several other tables to fit everyone as we celebrate how grateful we are to be together and have each other in our lives. In addition to this, we also have “Friendsmas” where we share a meal and exchange gifts. Our friends and their children attend each other’s sporting events, birthday parties, baptisms, graduations, and are our constant support system. We are very lucky to be part of such a tight-knit community of people.
Chris and Courtney are open to sending letters and pictures through the adoption agency or through a private website.
