"We are honored to be considered as adoptive parents for your child."

We have a loving, stable marriage and recently celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. After praying about it, we decided to try to grow our family through open adoption. We are excited to welcome a little one, and so is the rest of our big extended family! We are praying for you as you consider this life-altering decision.

If you choose adoption, we are honored to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. We promise: to love your child with all our hearts, to raise him or her in a faith-filled home, to honor the openness agreement we establish together, to support your child in navigating the complex emotions associated with adoption, and to prioritize education - both academics and faith formation.

Meet Mark and Adri

Mark and Adri met during a college internship while they were 19 years old. One hot August day Adri challenged Mark to a basketball game over their lunch break, and they were married a little over 4 years later on a sunny April afternoon in Mark’s childhood church. Their marriage is built on shared faith, mutual respect, honest communication, and lots of love.

Mark has a Bachelors degree in Information Systems from DePaul University in Chicago. He leads IT for a local manufacturing company and loves being able to help others use technology more effectively. Adri has a Bachelors degree in Professional Writing from Purdue University in West Lafayette. She works in organizational development and recruiting where she helps others grow in their careers. Together they enjoy going on long hikes and bike rides (especially to their town's main street for breakfast), visiting the library, exploring new places (their favorite so far has been Ireland), and spending lots of quality time with their extended family and friends.

Mark and Adri have always dreamed of having a large family and are excited to become parents for the first time. They are godparents to 4 amazing kids and are blessed to have a close, loving relationship with each one. "We love spending time with them, spoiling them with presents, and sharing our faith. We pray the Lord lights a fire in their hearts for Him and do our best to support them as they grow in faith and holiness."

Their family also includes a lovable 2 year old golden retriever named Arwen. She is named after one of their favorite characters from The Lord of The Rings. Her nickname is ‘Arwen The Snuggly’ because she would rather have cuddles than treats. Arwen is great with kids and gets super excited to play with the 4 children who live next door.

Our Story

MARK ON ADRI

"My wife is a very caring, loving person. She has a very strong faith life. She is beautiful inside and out. What I appreciate most about ‘A’ is her kind heart for everyone. She’s always there to support and encourage me. All around, she is amazing and I know she will be a phenomenal mother!"

ADRI ON MARK

“My husband Mark is the most considerate person I’ve ever met. He always puts others first and tries to do God’s will. He is faithful, loving, hard working, extremely intelligent, wise, and a strong leader for our family. I know he will be the best dad!”

MARK'S FAMILY

Mark has one older brother who is married with two young boys. They are some of Mark and Adri’s closest friends and live in a nearby state, so they travel as often as possible to see them and Mark’s loving parents. Mark has a huge extended family with lots of cousins and young kids, including their 10 year godson. Their frequent family parties are full of laughter, delicious food, and making memories together. Every Fall, Mark’s whole extended family takes a vacation together to a cute harbor town in Wisconsin to enjoy all the fall festivities - apple picking, visiting the pumpkin patch, making s’mores over a bonfire, etc. This trip is a family tradition that has been going on for over 50 years and Mark and Adri can’t wait to include a child in all the fun.

ADRI'S FAMILY

Adri is the oldest of five sisters, so she has lots of practice caring for children. She and Mark are close friends with all of them, as well as their brother-in-law and Adri’s loving parents. Her youngest sister is 13 years old and is so excited to become an Auntie at such a young age! Every year Adri’s grandparents host a big Christmas party with all the extended family where they exchange gifts and play fun games. Afterwards, all Adri’s siblings and their significant others go to Adri’s parent’s house and change into silly matching pajamas to exchange gifts. (Even the dogs are in matching sweaters!) After the gift exchange, each person sets 3 goals for the new year and shares about how last year's goal went as a way to support one another. One of Adri’s goals last year was to train Arwen to walk nicely on a leash and one of Mark’s was to put up a fence in the backyard.

OUR HOME

Mark & Adri live in a very safe community with award-winning schools and an interactive library. Their town has a bunch of fun parks, hiking trails to explore, annual festivals, and activities for kids like nature hikes. Their neighborhood has many young families, a park, walking paths, and a pool. They have a comfortable 4 bedroom home and a large fenced-in yard with lots of room to run and play. They recently painted the nursery and are very excited to prepare the room to welcome a child!

OUR COMMUNITY

Mark and Adri are part of a tight-knit community of faithful friends and family. Both sides of their extended families have frequent gatherings, and they especially cherish the time they get to spend with their adorable nephews. Mark and Adri are very active in their local Catholic Church, which is full of young families. Adri co-leads a small group at Church and Mark enjoys poker nights with his buddies, especially when he wins. They also coordinate a monthly ‘World Food Night’ with some friends where they eat at restaurants all around the city with food from other parts of the world. They are looking forward to including a little one in all their adventures.

OPENNESS

Mark and Adri hope to have an open adoption where your child knows who you are, understands the reasons for the choice you’re now considering, and loves you as a member of their extended family. Their prayer is that you would be present in your child’s life through whatever means you are comfortable with (visits, video chats, letters) and would like to design what that looks like together.
