Profile: Mark and Heather

Our names are Mark and Heather. We met through mutual friends in 2001, set up on a blind date... little did we know we would fall in love and get married just a few years later! We complement each other well and most importantly, fill our days with laughter. Christ is the foundation of our relationship and we are certainly blessed. We both came from families that are very close, so we have always wanted more kids. Family is extremely important to us and we are so excited to expand ours!

Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University and now works as a Restaurant Manager. He loves football and enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, movies, and traveling.

Heather attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She currently works as an Office Manager. She enjoys cooking, traveling, watching movies, and listening to music. 

We have one son named Caleb, who is 8-years-old.  We have not been able to have another child. Caleb is a spunky little boy, who likes to make others laugh. He loves dinosars, music and basketball. Caleb says "Dear Sibling I'm SO excited to be a big brother!  I can't wait to teach you many new things.  We will have so much fun together.  I promise to protect you always."

Togeher we love to go on family trips: like Disney World, Gatlinburg or an aqauarium, the zoo or baseball games. We can't wait to share their love and adventures with another child and expand their family.  Celebrating holidays and family traditions with our family and friends is very important to us.

Thank you again for considering us.  We promise to enourage your child's hopes and dreams and to provide the best possible education.  This child will be loved beyond words by us, our families and friends. He or she will also know the great love you have for him or her.   

HEATHER WRITTEN BY MARK

Heather is the best mommy ever; she is always taking care of our family and is the most selfless person I know. She is an outgoing, dedicated and uplifting person that has Christ as the center of her life. She is passionate about helping others in need and is always looking for ways to give back in the community. She loves our family and becomes the best cheerleader at different sports games and activities with us. She is the best cook and makes sure we eat more than just Mac n cheese and pizza. We love her dearly and are excited about expanding our family.

 Mark is the best Daddy ever! I admire so much about him. He is always up for adventure and makes life fun. He is caring, thoughtful, and has a heart for people. He's a good listener and his friends and family find comfort in that. He will support our kids in whatever their interests are, whether that means coaching a sports team, going to music recitals or playing dolls. Our kids will always be Mark's top priority! He leads our home with gentle strength as he seeks the Lord. He is selfless, always putting others above himself. Mark is the most gracious and patient person I know. These are qualities that make him such a wonderful Dad. Some of my favorite moments are watching him play with our son and laughing uncontrollably!

MARK'S FAMILY

Mark has one older brother. His mother and step-father live in Florida. His father passed away in 2016. Mark talks with his mother each week and visits her four times a year. Mark's family is excited to continue to support them in the adoption process!

HEATHER'S FAMILY

Heather has two older siblings, a sister and a brother. Her sister is married with two children, and her brother is single living with no children. Heather's parents live in South Bend, IN. Heather continues to have a strong relationship with her parents. Heather's family is supportive and encouraging in this adoption process.  Spoiling and loving on therir grandchildren is waht they cherish the most.  

OUR HOME

Our home is one of our favorite places to be.  We live in a two-story home with a finished basement. It has 4 bedrooms on the second floor. We enjoy playing in the yard, going for walks, and winding down inside watching movies together. We live in a neighborhood that's focused on families being active in their children's schools, sports and churches. 

OUR COMMUNITY

We have some pretty awesome friends who pray with us, laugh with us, cry with us and make our lives so much fun! Most of our friends have small children and babies.  We vacation together with our friends and celebrate many holidays.  

OPENNESS

Mark and Heather seek a semi-open adoption with letters and pictures exchanged through the adoption agency. They are open to the idea of a private website with pictures to provide for the birthparent(s). They are also open to visits at the agency, once a year, as a relationship is developed through adoption.

We enjoy spending time traveling and taking trips together as a family to places such as the aquariums, children's museum, the zoo, Florida and Tennessee. We love visiting with family any chance we get. Discovering new places and spending quality time together is something that is very important to us.
