“We will provide a safe and happy home for your child”

When we married in 2000 we had planned to start a family within a few years. However, after several years of trying, we found that we have been unable to have children on our own. Therefore, after much thoughtful deliberation and prayer, we have decided to adopt. We are excited to become parents and promise to provide a safe and happy home for your child.  We understand that you are at a point in your life where you are facing a very difficult decision and we can't even begin to imagine the many questions and concerns you must have.  We hope that you might consider us in your decision. We would love the opportunity to meet with you so that you may have a chance to get to know us better.

Meet Stephen and Alicia

Our names are Stephen and Alicia. We met in 1996, were married 4 years later in 2000, and have been happily together ever since. Because of infertility, we are unable to have children on our own, but we long to be parents.  Stephen is a motivated farmer who is passionate about agriculture. He enjoys working on the family farm with his dad, raising corn, soybeans, wheat and cattle. In his free time, he enjoys visiting air and space museums and hiking. Alicia is an archaeologist and works to interpret past events in Indiana. Although much of her time is spent in an office, Alicia’s job does allow her to work on many unique cultural sites.  Alicia enjoys gardening, photography, camping and kayaking. We both enjoy spending time outdoors and vacationing with family or friends. We are excited to grow our family through adoption and share our love of nature and the outdoors with a child.

Our Story

Alicia is a very caring and hardworking individual.  She is extremely thoughtful and puts family at the top of her list  along with her friends and neighbors. I am often impressed with her willingness to help others and her creative solutions to overcome obstacles that come our way. Communication is one of our greatest strengths, which allows us to  have a very open and honest relationship .

Stephen is a dedicated, hard working and extremely talented individual.  He is analytical and enjoys working through problems and developing solutions. He is also extremely caring and has a loving heart.  He tries to assist others to the best of his abilities. I feel that one of the strongest points in our marriage is our honesty, respect and ability to communicate openly.  No matter how busy we are, we always come together for supper around our kitchen table.

Stephen is the oldest of four. He has two brothers and a sister.  All three siblings are married and between them there are three nephews in the family. Most of the family lives nearby, with his parents only a few miles down the road, which means get-togethers and family dinners are common occurrences.

Alicia also comes from a family of six, with three older brothers. All of her brothers are married and there are six nieces that do their part in entertaining family dinners. Although Alicia's side is more spread out, everyone, including her grandmother, lives within the state and gather frequently for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions- and sometimes for no occasion at all.

We built our house in 2009 and Stephen did the general contract work himself. Our 3,000 sq ft house sits on a large hill with 13 acres along a shallow river, perfect for kayaking.  Every year Alicia plants a garden and together we tend it and help it grow.

Community involvement is important to us, as well as education. We often volunteer to assist at Ag Day and other similar programs that are designed to educate students about agriculture and the role farming plays in their lives. We are also both active in our church community and participate on several committees and/or boards. Aside from our families we have a wonderful network of friends.

Stephen and Alicia would love to share letters and pictures and are open to visits with the birthparent(s).
